Public Hearing to Reissue Hazardous Waste Post-Closure Permit to Olin Corporation (TND003337292)

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Land Protection (DLP) - Waste Management Branch (WBM), has tentatively decided to reissue a hazardous waste post-closure permit to Olin Corporation. The Olin Corporation (EPA ID TND003337292) is located in Bradley County at 1186 Lower River Road, Charleston, TN 37310. TDEC invites the public to submit comments on this proposal during a 45-day comment period ending on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, to provide an additional opportunity for public comments. The public hearing will be held at the Charleston Elementary School located at 8797 Hiwassee ST, TN 37310, as well as via teleconference. An information session will be held from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM EDT for the public to inspect and discuss the permit application, draft permit, fact sheet, plans, and other materials with representatives of the Olin Corporation and the DLP. The formal hearing will begin at 6:30 PM, EDT with a presentation from the DLP on the tentative decision to issue the permit followed by a presentation by Olin Corporation describing the activities at the facility. After the presentations, the DLP will receive oral comments on the draft permit from the public that will be recorded. The public may submit written comments at the meeting.
