About this event
Join us as we collect signatures to keep building a stronger, safer, and more equitable 26th Ward. Working families deserve a city that works for them - good jobs, safe streets, a home they can afford, and a real voice in decisions that affect their lives. I’m Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, and I’m running for Re-election to deliver for working families by focusing on three promises: Build affordable housing now — fast-tracked, mixed-income developments with strong tenant protections, community land trusts, and funding for deeply affordable units so parents and seniors can stay in the neighborhoods they love. Deliver real safety through investment — expand proven violence-prevention programs, fund crisis-response teams for mental-health and substance calls, fix lighting and sidewalks, and invest in youth jobs and after-school programs so our streets are safer and our kids have opportunities. Practice co-governance — make decision-making local: participatory budgeting that directs resources to neighborhood priorities, empowered community advisory committees, transparent city contracting, and regular, multilingual neighborhood events so families shape the policies that affect them. I will also fight for living-wage job pipelines, affordable housing, reliable transit, and support for small businesses so families can do more than survive. Join our campaign to turn these promises into results. Sign, volunteer, or donate today to keep building a stronger, safer, and fairer community for working families.
