RISE and Volunteer to help Stafford Families in Need. We're handing out clothing, food and household items. Need help organizing the donated items and helping the families that attend. We are only operating at America's Best Value Inn on Rt 17 West of I-95. Parking Guidelines: Request that all volunteer park in the commuter lot on 17. *****Donation Guidelines**** WHERE: To Donate? 1. Preferred: Stafford TARGET PARKING LOT - (Will be close to the front parking lot entrance) Address: 1090 Stafford Market Pl, Stafford VA 22556 WHEN: Last Wednesday of each month – *(6:00–7:00)PM*) Day Before Thursday Event. Note: (Nov and Dec pickups are moved to third Wednesday’s of the month) LOOK FOR: (White Honda Acura SUV with rear hatch lifted) 2. Alternate: Stafford County Government Center Parking Lot Address: 1300 Courthouse Rd. Stafford VA 22554 WHEN: After SDC Monthly Meetings, 2nd Saturday each month - *(12:00 - 1:00)PM* LOOK FOR: (White Honda Acura SUV with rear hatch lifted) WHO: Leave Donations? SDC RISE Event Lead-(White Honda Acura SUV with rear hatch lifted) Note: Could use volunteers to help RISE Event Lead collect and store donated items at TARGET Store location and after SDC monthly meetings to help sort/hang clothing. Always need RISE Event Day volunteers to help with setup, staging, handing-out and monitoring equitable donated item distribution to families. FOOD – (General - Nutritious non-perishable) - Beans, rice, individual oatmeal (bags or cups), whole grain bars, complete meal soups, nuts - Peanut or almond butter w/o sugar, jelly w/o high fructose corn syrup, fruit cups, apple sauce - Baby food, baby formula, boxed milks, bottled waters, boxed/canned juices - Canned Vegetables/Fruit/Protein - Homemade popcorn divided in sandwich bags 2. PRODUCE - Fresh fruits with long non-refrigerated shelf life
