About this event
Join Engaged Defenders for Democracy every Monday at Central Prison to hold a vigil and demonstration against the death penalty. We gather at the front gate and along the sidewalk that fronts Central Prison with signs that we prop in the Holly bushes along the back of the sidewalk, and signs that we hold in our hands. Drive past Central Prison and turn on Boylan then take an immediate left to park on the street behind Western Blvd. Then, walk up to the sidewalk near the entrance. This will be a nonviolent demonstration. Please no mocking signs, no swastikas. Parking: From Western Boulevard, turn onto Boylan Avenue, then take an immediate left onto Dix Road. Parking is always available along the road on Dix near the overhead railroad trestle. It's just a few yards from there to the entrance of Central Prison. See you every Monday evening in solidarity against the death penalty and treatment of people in prison!
