About this event
Join PDX Car Caravan Protest on the third Sunday of each month*, 1pm-3pm, through October! Make some signs for your car and be ready to meet us at the top secret location revealed via email, only to attendees. Please plan to be prompt - we will roll at 1pm. Sign up here: https://www.mobilize.us/pdxcarcaravanprotest/event/916097/ PDX Car Caravan was created in 2020 in response to the founder's grandson's death by police. Today, it stands against injustice, everywhere, and particularly, the appalling actions of the current administration. The PDX Car Caravan is a great way to protest for those of us who can't do the big crowds, due to mobility challenges, social anxiety, and other health concerns. It's also great for people who love to cruise - shine your baby up, and decorate her with the messages you want the public to hear! The PDX Car Caravan brings the protest to the people, and more specifically, to the people at brunch! Our carefully planned routes are designed for maximum exposure, taking advantage of Portland's robust foodie scene. The response is overwhelmingly positive - it really electrifies the public, in the best way! We'll all meet up at 1pm, sharp (our meet-up spot changes monthly - we'll notify you via email where to find us). We'll go over the 'rules of the road' and then roll out, en masse, at 1:15pm. Our route should take about 90 minutes to complete. We expect the caravan to wrap up by 3pm, latest. Please note, there will be no restroom facilities available at our meet-up spot. Watch this video for a quick run-down of our "rules of the road." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg902kaaG7I *The PDX Car Caravan will roll out on the third Sunday of each month, except in March and June. In March, we will do the last Sunday - Sunday, March 29th, to coincide with No Kings Weekend. In June, we will do the second Sunday - June 14th, to coincide with Flag Day, and to wish DJT a most unhappy birthday! Please see separate event sign ups for these two dates. #po
