About this event
Welcome to the Housing Committee! We are here because we know housing is a real and urgent issue in our community—whether you, a family member, a friend, or a neighbor has been impacted. This work is personal, and it brings us together with a shared purpose. You are stepping into the next stage of your journey as a member, where you will actively develop and exercise your leadership. In this space, we come together to deepen our understanding of housing issues and take collective action. Together, we will evaluate the systemic challenges driving the housing crisis, both locally and statewide. Our work includes advancing solutions such as rent control and supporting the creation of a Tenant Protection Office—efforts that aim to bring stability, accountability, and fairness to our communities. We are also committed to building our learning through conversation—by listening to those most impacted by the housing crisis and engaging with different perspectives, including opposition. This helps us sharpen our analysis, strengthen our strategies, and act with clarity and purpose. This work cannot be done alone. It is only through collective power, shared leadership, and consistent action that we can create meaningful change. As a committee, we are taking the initiative to challenge and shift the systems that impact our housing conditions. Your voice, experiences, and leadership are essential to this work. We look forward to building power together.
