Prep and Stocking Duties Include: ● Assist in getting the market ready to accommodate our neighbors by refilling the shelves with inventory. This includes stocking non-perishable items, bakery, dairy, frozen, and fresh produce ● Sort and bag produce and perform a variety of other necessary tasks. Market Assistant Duties Include: Volunteers help guide our neighbors (shoppers) through the choice Food Market. Greet and explain the process to our neighbors and ensure they are following the directional flow of the market according to the arrow signs on the floor. Face and stock shelves as needed, assist with the checkout process, and sanitize food tables and shelves. Volunteers who are at least 16 years old can also serve outside as a Parking Attendant. Our goal is to make our neighbors feel comfortable during their shopping experience. Roles and Responsibilities for Market Assistant Volunteers: ● Greet and welcome all neighbors, answer any questions they have, and help explain the shopping process and directional flow they should follow. ● Stock shelves as needed when there is a minimal amount of shoppers in the market. ● Assist the Floor Lead with any special duties or tasks that need done. ● Take trash and recycled cardboard outside to the dumpsters. Sweep and/or mop floors to ensure that the market is left in great shape for the next day.
