Queer Protection Pod: Monthly Meeting

QPP is an action-oriented community for queers and allies joined together in solidarity, providing mutual aid-based survival work — rooted in principles of racial justice, gender justice, disability justice, economic justice and class justice — and creating a place of true belonging and community. 🌈 Here are our group norms: Respect Worth/Dignity: We respect the worth and dignity of others and that guides our interactions with everyone in the group. Intent: We assume others are acting with good intent. If someone says or does something insensitive or hurtful, we help them learn. Accountability: We know that we can all make mistakes, and we endeavor to act with grace to acknowledge them and repair any damage done. Embrace Growth Mindset: We strive to see mistakes or conflicts as opportunities to learn and grow. Intergenerational Respect: We acknowledge that, while the lived experiences of group members of various ages will differ, we will give everyone's thoughts and actions due consideration. No one is too young or too old to contribute or to have great ideas. Confidentiality: We agree that stories stay and learning leaves. We can apply what we learn from others in the group, we cannot share their stories. Step Forward/Step Back: We strive to promote equitable participation in the group using the "step forward/step back" framework. If you frequently speak up in conversations, consider stepping back to make room for other voices. If you typically remain quiet in conversations, consider stepping forward to make your voice heard. Leadership Rotates: We do not have a hierarchical structure. Working groups (including leadership!) are all made up of volunteers, and involvement in them is not set in stone. If you want to be involved in a working group, please let someone in that group know. (Planning consists of volunteers.) Choose how you best think you can contribute, and let someone know.
