Orlando Freedom Vigil

Across the country, immigrant communities are under attack — targeted by raids, detention, and dehumanizing policies that tear families apart. These tactics are being weaponized as part of a broader authoritarian crackdown that threatens the rights and freedoms of everyone. Now is the time to come together, to stand shoulder to shoulder, and to say clearly: We will not stand by as families are disappeared, rights are dismantled, and democracy itself is eroded. Join us every 1st and 3rd Sunday outside Orlando City Hall from 4-5 PM In solidarity of faith, resolve, and participation with the weekly Sunday vigils outside of the cruelly-named "Alligator Alcatraz" and the Disappeared in America Weekend of Action, Orlando Indivisible, and The Immigrants are Welcome Here Coalition, together, we’ll shine a light on the human toll of detention and demand an end to corporate and government complicity in this cruelty. These one-hour vigils will include prayer, songs, poems, immigrant stories, and calls to action. *A core principle behind all Freedom Vigils is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
