Do you love birds? Then, join us at the Green Mountain Audubon Center for our monthly bird monitoring walk! Following our mapped monitor route, we will search for birds in various habitats at the center. This is a great opportunity to build your experience using binoculars and listening to bird song. We will identify the birds we see or hear, and record counts of their population numbers. Beginners are welcome! Binoculars and birding guides are available to borrow from the Visitor Center's Gear Loan Library. The long-term data we gather contributes to the eBird database, which is available to a global community of educators, land managers, ornithologists, conservation biologists, and the public. This event is free, but donations to Audubon are appreciated. (https://act.audubon.org/a/donate) Regarding the weather: Normally with light rain or snow in the forecast, we will go ahead with the walk. If strong winds or heavy rain, snow, or ice are expected, we will reschedule the walk. Please check our website calendar, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.
