Election oversight works best when the public is paying attention. The Anderson County Election Commission is a public body responsible for overseeing local election administration, approving key decisions, and conducting official election business in public meetings. This Civic Watch event is a simple invitation for neighbors to attend, observe, and better understand how local election administration works. No speeches. No pressure. Just public participation in a public meeting. If you’d like to attend with others, we’ll gather a few minutes beforehand and sit together. What to expect: • Observe the meeting and follow the agenda • Take notes if you’d like • Learn how decisions are made • Public comment may be available depending on the meeting agenda, but participation is entirely optional Why some residents are paying closer attention: Earlier this year, the Anderson County Commission issued a vote of no confidence in the Administrator of Elections — an unusual action that raised broader public interest in how election administration is functioning locally. How to follow official Election Commission business: Meeting agendas, minutes, notices, and official information are posted by the Anderson County Election Commission here: https://www.acelection.com/commissioners/ Current Election Commissioners: D. Jane Miller (Chair) William “Bear” Stephenson (Secretary) William T. Gallaher Marion Stanford David Bradshaw Administrator of Elections: Mark Stephens This is a civic observation event open to anyone interested in transparency, public process, and local government.
