Join Upper West Side Action Group/Swing Left for a Ground Truth canvass. Most of us will be car pooling from the Upper West Side and some may take MetroNorth train from Grand Central to the Hudson Valley NY17 were we want to defeat [R] Rep. Mike Lawler. Those who live in or near NY17 can meet us at the train station. Further details are available on Thursday evening by email to those who've signed up. The Ground Truth canvass is: —designed to help Democrats rebuild trust, win tough races, and flip the House. We’re launching an [innovative new program](https://ourgroundtruth.org) that will revolutionize how we connect with voters and potential voters at their doors. At this canvass, we’ll: - Knock on **every door** in the neighborhood, not just the same voters campaigns usually talk to. - Have real conversations that **listen deeply** to voters’ concerns. - Gather insights to share with campaigns, so they can be responsive to voters’ needs and smarter with their messaging, targeting, and outreach. Don’t worry if it’s your first time—training, materials, and support are all provided. Just bring comfortable shoes, a charged phone, and your passion for making a difference. –– **About the program** This isn’t traditional canvassing—it’s a whole new way of talking to voters. Together, we’ll gather authentic insights from communities, use cutting-edge tools to capture what we hear, and share it back with campaigns to strengthen their efforts. - *Why we’re starting early:* launching a year ahead of the midterms to build power before campaigns are even off the ground. - *How we’ll go big:* knocking every door, not just the ones the voter database tells us to, so every conversation builds a more complete picture of the electorate. - *How we’ll go deep:* practicing empathetic listening and real conversations that uncover voters’ “ground truth,” not just checking boxes on a script. Paid for by Swing Left, Swingleft.org, not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
