About this event
Join us for another Roadside Rally Against Fascism down in Bellmawr at the corner of Black Horse Pike and E Browning Road. UPDATE: Recently, our rally has been unfairly targeted by local police. One person was arrested for disorderly conduct while lawfully recording a traffic stop, and several citations have been issued for trumped-up infractions such as: excessive honking while operating a vehicle; jaywalking; disregarding stop signs; and trespassing. Please record any police activity you witness and notify us ASAP (especially regarding Officer Sarin, who is deeply frightened by traffic control boxes and nice old ladies). Allow the rally leaders and safety marshals to take point on interacting with the police. Say as little as possible to the police if they speak to you, and only comply with their orders to the minimal extent as required by law. Remember that New Jersey is not a "stop and identify" state, and you are only required to provide your ID if you are being detained on reasonable suspicion of a crime (i.e. whatever crime the officers decide to invent). Here is a link to some useful info from the ACLU about your rights when interacting with the police: https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/stopped-by-police Please bring your signs, flags, street antics, and any other ways you can think of to joyfully disturb the peace. But please avoid any messaging that is outright hateful, violent, or discriminatory. Do your best to keep the messaging on target -- Bellmawr PD is a problem, but our real enemy is tyranny as a whole. Eyes on the prize. There is a good amount of traffic and plenty of sidewalk, and there is parking available on nearby residential streets (make sure not to obstruct the nearby police and fire departments on Lewis Ave). We would love to welcome as many folks as possible to come make some noise with us! This is a nonviolent demonstration, so please attend with safety and de-escalation in mind. There may be a few counterprotestors, but we can never
