Stand Up, Speak Out: El Segundo Monthly Rally.

Join us at the corner of Main & Imperial to protest the inhumane actions of the Trump administration! This will be a family-friendly, dog-friendly, non-violent, no-vandalism, community event. We'll be staying on the grassy areas and out of the roads. Please keep it friendly, and if there is any negativity or counter-protestors, don't engage. We'll have folks on hand who can help de-escalate any situation if necessary. What this event is: * This is a stationary, “honk and wave” visibility event at a location that sees a lot of weekend traffic. Bring signs! * This is a positive, peaceful, community-focused, and family- and dog-friendly event. What this event is not: * This is not a march, and there is no programming/planned speaker. * This is not a civil disobedience event. We will not block roads, sidewalks, or the entrances of any buildings. * We will not be engaging with any hecklers. The El Segundo Police Department is aware of the event and available to help assist to keep everyone safe if there are counter-protestors. There are many other Indivisible events across LA, so if this doesn't sound like what you're looking for, please feel free to attend a different event. Details: * 10:30 AM to 12 PM * Grassy area in front of the El Segundo sign at the corner of Main & Imperial in El Segundo. We will expand to the grassy area across Main if necessary. * There is street parking along Imperial Avenue (not Imperial Highway) within El Segundo, as well as on the surrounding streets south of Imperial Ave. * Please do not park illegally (i.e. blocking driveways or in the local businesses’ lots). We want to bring people in to our movement, not turn them off! *Unfortunately, this location is not very accessible by public transportation. The 109 bus runs very sporadically, especially on the weekend.
