About this event
**This Halloween, we gather in Courthouse Square to remember individuals who died at the hands of ICE – and we call to stop ICE violence.** Since January 2025, ICE has shot and killed at least six people in US streets, half of whom were US citizens. More than 50 people have died in ICE custody. Masked ICE agents kidnap our neighbors into unmarked vehicles and bring them to detention centers where >65,000 people are held in abysmal conditions. We unite to get ICE out of our communities. Close ICE concentration camps. No more ICE funding while people lose health care and struggle to afford housing, gas, and groceries. *This event, sponsored by Good Trouble Trumbull, is part of a Day of the Dead National Action by Disappeared in America.* We welcome signs, flowers, writings, drawings, paintings, flowers, decorations, crafts, photographs, or other artistic expressions for a physical Day of the Dead tribute we’ll create together in the spirit of remembrance and peace. *A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
