About this event
**Trump's Iran War is Terrible** Join us to advocate for an end to the Iran war. Rep. Smucker needs to hear from his constituents that we oppose a violent path to nuclear nonproliferation and that we would like him to vote against it at every opportunity. Don't let him say, "I didn't hear anyone was against this!" ### Why Congress Must Act to End the War **This War Does Not Reflect Who Americans Want to Be** This nation stands for opportunity, dignity, and the belief that every human life has worth. When we bomb elementary schools, reduce neighborhoods to rubble, and cut families like ours off from food and water, we betray these foundational values. ● The war against Iran is the least popular war on record. More broadly, seven in ten Americans agree that they would prefer the US be a reliable neighbor who prioritizes responsible partnership over erratic warmaking.
● Bombing a girls’ school and calling for an entire civilization's destruction goes against our values, and signals to other countries that the U.S. is an unstable, unserious actor.
● Americans care about what’s happening to innocent civilians, especially when it’s our money being used to bomb their homes. We have the power to stand up and demand our leaders make decisions that respect and protect human life. **This War Was Forced Upon Us and is Not “America First”** ● We didn’t vote for this war. President Trump promised no forever wars. This war wasforced on us by those who profit from never-ending conflicts in the Middle East, and it will continue to bleed us dry the longer it goes on.
● This war does nothing to benefit everyday Americans and conflicts with President Trump’s pledges to bring back manufacturing. When the costs of gas, fertilizer and other goods go up, we are not putting “America first”
– we are slowing economic growth.
● The president of the United States should be prioritizing the needs of American families — not advancing the political agenda of military contractors or foreign governm
