Can't Fool Meck Poll Canvass - Eastway Regional Rec Center

Early voting is underway, and the line at the polls is one of the best places to reach our neighbors before they cast their ballots. Join Carolina Federation-Mecklenburg for a poll canvass shift and talk with voters about the property tax amendments on this fall's ballot. The county tax rate is already set to drop in January 2027, amendment or not. What these amendments would do is let corporations like Duke Energy and the wealthiest property owners keep dodging what they owe, and move the final say on your property tax bill from the county commissioners you elect to politicians in Raleigh. Billions for CMS, CPCC, Atrium Health and CATS are on the line. You'll work in pairs, outside the 50-foot buffer zone, with talking points and materials we provide. First time doing this? No problem. We'll walk you through what to say when you arrive. Bring water, comfortable shoes and a charged phone.
