About this event
Midterm polling is looking promising for pro-working class candidates, but the races aren't a given. **When democracy is on the line, the best defense is a good, strategic offense.** We have to hustle to win these elections by margins that are too big to question, then protect the results and make sure these new lawmakers are sworn in. Join SURJ for a special session where we'll discuss how we win for our movement and enforce the results. **What we do in the final weeks before the election will set the stage for the next stretch of our work.** If we win big, it will make it harder to deny the results. If we are prepared, strategic, and coordinated within our larger movement, we can protect democracy against election tampering and make it known that the people have the power. Then, there's the work that continues for years: leveraging our chosen candidates' campaign promises to usher in policy that works for all of us. Organizing to set the terrain on which we can continue our fights. **Protecting democracy from authoritarianism and those who profit off our suffering. Fighting for change in every arena we have a foothold in.** **This call is for you - someone who is looking for an outlet to channel their uncertainty and fear into a strategic movement for a new, better world that takes the fight to the ballot box, the statehouse, and the streets.** **Join us for this Block by Block campaign call: another in a series of monthly spaces for SURJers to take our fear, confusion, and weariness and turn it into grounded action.** We're about to enter the next stretch of our organizing - let's work it out together. _Note: this is the same call as the monthly Block by Block campaign call series for Block by Block organizers, captains, and crew. If you're already signed up there, you're all set!_
