As Big Tech expands its reach, Illinois needs stronger protections for consumers, communities, and utility customers. Join Citizen Action/Illinois on November 5 at noon to learn about two bills we're supporting during Veto Session. We will be hearing from the Illinois Environmental Council, UFCW Local 881, and other coalition partners. The POWER Act (SB 4016/HB 5513) would protect communities and utility customers from the impacts of data centers’ growing energy and water demands. Surveillance pricing legislation (HB 4248/SB 2255) would protect consumers from companies using personal data to set individualized prices for goods and services. Hear from coalition leaders about what's at stake for Illinois residents and how you can help advance these protections.
