About this event
For our November monthly meeting, Duluth Indivisible has asked Megan Peterson and Erin Maye Quaid, the Executive Director and Senior Advisor, respectively, of [Gender Justice](https://www.genderjustice.us/) to present on "Gender and Authoritarianism". Because we are meeting in person and they are presenting on Zoom, we've decided to offer the Zoom version throughout MN08. Hence this Zoom version of the event. People who register will get the Zoom link a few hours before the event. Authoritarians regularly use gender as a wedge issue to create fear, divide people, and reinforce traditional hierarchies and patriarchy. The Trump regime is following this playbook on many fronts: trans youth participation in sports, Hegseth's attacks on diversity in the military, the SAVE Act to disenfranchise women voters, blocking health care for trans youth, and on and on. Gender Justice's presentation will outline these issues in a potent and coherent way and better equip us to protect the rights of ALL people to live fully and freely with respect to gender. We will still meet in person in Duluth for a potluck at 5:00 PM, with the presentation at 6:00, followed by discussion and planning on how gender advocacy might fit into our 2027 planning. To sign up for the **in-person session**, please do so through this Mobilize link: [Gender and Authoritarianism: In Person](https://www.mobilize.us/duluthindivisible/event/1040294/) Please spread the word.
