About this event
**We're in a climate crisis and our bills are too damn high! We need a GasFreeNYC!** Buildings are New York City's largest source of greenhouse gas, in large part due to fossil fuel use. While Local Law 97 is successfully reducing pollution from large buildings, it does not cover the City's thousands of 1- and 2-family homes. The GasFreeNYC campaign is the next essential phase to moving off fossil fuels: expanding public funding and passing requirements to help homeowners get rid of their dirty old boilers and move on to clean-energy heat pumps. At the meeting, we'll discuss what we've won so far, what's next, and how you can be involved in winning a GasFreeNYC! _Sponsors: New York Communities for Change, NYPIRG, Food & Water Watch_
