About this event
Care in Action is running a field program to mobilize tens of thousands of North Carolina voters to the polls in this decisive election. Join us on Saturday, October 24th for a canvass in Wake County as we talk with our community members about what's at stake. We will knock doors and engage voters with critical information on how they can vote, lift up the important races that will have a big impact on our state, and what’s on the ballot, including two harmful constitutional amendments. Care in Action works to address issues of long-term care, childcare, and affordability, and you can volunteer with us to ensure that we engage as many voters as possible and activate them around these issues. Never canvassed before or don't know much about the upcoming election? No worries, we have you covered! We will provide training in the morning and talking points to prepare you to have effective and meaningful conversations. Canvassers will be placed in teams, and support throughout the day will be available to you. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for full-day volunteers and hotspots to those who need it. Please bring your smart phones and chargers if you have them! 8–9 AM: Breakfast (available for folks volunteering the whole day); 9–10 AM: Training 10 AM–1 PM; Travel + canvass 1–2 PM; Lunch at meet up site (available for folks volunteering the whole day) 2–4:30 PM; Travel + canvass 4:30–5 PM; Debrief + closing
