We cannot afford to sit back as bad actors flood social media with misinformation. Join Common Cause Texas, the Election Protection Coalition and Voter Protection Corps to learn how to fight back. This training will focus on how election misinformation and disinformation show up online, how to identify and document concerning narratives, and how volunteers and community partners can help strengthen the broader response to misleading election information. We’ll also spend time on the issues and narratives that are most relevant in Texas, with space to discuss what partners are already seeing and what may be helpful to monitor in the weeks ahead. During the training, we’ll cover: -How to recognize common forms of election misinformation and disinformation -What to look for when being in online spaces -How to document and report concerning content -How monitoring can help identify emerging narratives and patterns -How this work connects with broader election protection and response efforts This session is open to anyone interested in learning more about election misinformation, social media monitoring, and ways to support voter protection work in Texas.
