About this event
Join the League of Women Voters of Connecticut and LWV New Haven for a nonpartisan door-to-door canvass to empower our community and ensure every eligible voter’s voice is heard! With key elections approaching, we are knocking on doors across New Haven to make sure our neighbors are fully prepared to cast their ballots by November 3rd. Whether you are a seasoned canvasser or taking to the doors for the first time, we will provide the training and materials you need to make an impact. What We’ll Be Doing: Voter Education: Sharing clear, trusted details on voting options, key dates, and election procedures in Connecticut. Voter Empowerment: Helping community members make a concrete plan to participate on or before November 3rd. Answering Questions: Helping voters check their voter status, locate their local polling information, and navigate general voter resources like VOTE411.org. Schedule & Agenda: 1:00 PM: Welcome & Canvass Training: We will kick off with brief nonpartisan messaging training, review route assignments, pair experienced canvassers with new canvassers, and walk through our canvassing app. 1:30 PM | Door-to-Door Canvassing: Pairs will head out to assigned New Haven neighborhoods to engage local voters. 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM | Debrief & Material Return: Gather back at our starting hub to drop off materials and share stories. How to Prepare: What to Wear: Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. What to Bring: A fully charged smartphone, a water bottle, and a friend! The League of Women Voters is a strictly nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. We do not support or oppose candidates or political parties.
