🤝civic engagement
Interfaith Prayer Meeting for Peace is a collaboration of people of faith from various organizations. We grieve this administration’s assault on human dignity and life at home and abroad. We grieve ruthless corporate war profiteering. So we meet monthly in the shadow of the largest weapons manufacturer on the globe, and across the street from the largest luxury mall in the nation, to pray and bear witness that a better world is possible. NOTE: Time of event is approximate and will be finalized by email! As people of faith and conscience committed to peaceful, legal, prayerful presence, we agree to the following: We agree to respect “that of God in every person” and refrain from hostile language and insults. We agree to leave room for repentance in those with whom we disagree and to oppose violence, not people. We agree to trust the Divine to bring about peace, shalom and wholeness in our world. We agree to follow all legal instructions from law enforcement. We agree to quickly cooperate with peacekeeper and Meeting facilitator directions that are for our safety. As an interfaith gathering, we agree to exercise freedom of expression and respect the freedom of expression of others. If you have a prayer, reading, song, or other activity, it will represent your faith and conscience with integrity. If someone else’s sharing does not align with your faith and conscience, you are free to abstain from participating during that moment.
