Women’s Support Group

Women's group is a support group to gather women who may have been through the same experiences, would like to share stories, resources and bond with others on a monthly basis. This group is ran by peers and volunteers with a few experts coming to speak to us at certain times also. We started this group because we personally know how it feels to be alone with no one to relate to or to talk to. In a world where there is so much violence put on our children and ourselves as women, we must find and create spaces where we feel safe, comfortable, heard and overall have the support we all need. Every last Tuesday of the month 6-7pm. Most of our support groups and workshops will be at the Peebles Library in their meeting room. Depending on weather, we may have locations outdoors, at a park or hiking location or even the private 3rd space we created where our community aid garden is. Our lead, Taryn, will be there to greet you and get us started at each of these groups and workshops. We are allies and accomplices here. 6-7pm Women's Support Group 5-6pm Sexual and Domestic Violence Educational Workshops Survivors deserve active, accessible and affordable advocacy, support and the right to heal on their own terms. This group and the workshops are designed to help you build resilience, develop skills to keep you and your loved ones safe, and create bonds with those who have been through the same experiences as well as educating and informing the public for prevention. There are no age restrictions only to make this accessible. We don't want to make younger children or your children who may need this group to feel like they can't be apart of it just because of their age. If they have experienced hardship or need a safe space just like we do, we will not be turning them away. We do understand that this could potentially keep conversations from being too deep but if enough girls or younger women would like to attend, we can start a support group for our youth.
