About this event
Tom Tiffany is coming to Milwaukee for his televised debate for Governor — and Birds on a Wire is showing up before he walks through those doors. The debate will be held without a live audience, but that doesn’t mean Wisconsin voters have to be silent. We’ll be outside — peaceful, joyful, loud and impossible to ignore. Tiffany’s record in Congress will be part of what protesters are calling attention to. He voted for the 2025 reconciliation law that made major changes and reductions in projected federal Medicaid spending, while Tiffany has defended his vote as protecting benefits for vulnerable people and targeting waste and eligibility requirements. We want Wisconsin voters asking questions about healthcare costs, Medicaid, reproductive freedom, immigration, public education, the cost of living, data centers, taxes, and whose interests our next governor will serve. Bring your signs. Bring your friends. Bring your voice. SHOW UP. STAND UP. SPEAK UP. We have the power to make better possible — but only when we use it. Join Birds on a Wire from 5:00-6:00 PM, immediately before the debate begins. Let’s give the cameras something to see — and Wisconsin something to hear. PEOPLE OVER BILLIONAIRES.
HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT.
WISCONSIN BELONGS TO ALL OF US. This will be a peaceful, nonviolent protest. One detail I’d consider adding to the event page: “The debate begins at 7 PM and will be televised statewide.” That gives people another reason to come—the protest is immediately before a major statewide media event. WISN says the debate will air in southeastern Wisconsin and be distributed to partner stations around the state.
