Stories That Shapes Us: Hallo-READ

Stories That Shape Us is a joyful family literacy series designed for children from birth through age 8 and the adults who care for them. Families will explore culturally affirming books, participate in engaging literacy activities, receive take-home learning resources, and discover meaningful ways to support early learning and school readiness. Each gathering offers a welcoming space for families to read, play, learn, and celebrate the stories that shape our identities, communities, and futures. Families may attend one event or join us for the entire series. Celebrate reading, creativity, and family connection at Hallo-READ, a seasonal Stories That Shape Us literacy experience hosted by Black Child Development Institute Ohio. Families will enjoy culturally affirming stories, hands-on literacy activities, playful learning experiences, and take-home resources that help children build early reading and school-readiness skills. This welcoming event is designed for children from birth through age 8 and their families. Costumes may be welcomed if confirmed by the program team, but they are not required to participate. Registration is encouraged. Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026 Time: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location: MAGNET: The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network, 1800 E 63rd St, Cleveland, OH 44103
