Poll Station Tabling – Early Voting

About this event Poll Station Table Volunteers are needed for Early Voting during the November election, October 14 - October 29. Volunteers will staff an information table at the Library poll station. It's our last opportunity to help voters hear about Democrats on the Ballot! Note: You will receive Mobilize email about this event when you sign up. Volunteers, a MUST READ, please! Thank you for your commitment! However, if something happens and you cannot fulfill your shift, please give as much notice as possible by calling or texting 336-601-8183 or 865-469-1513. Preparation • Wear comfortable clothing, such as a BCDP T-shirt, hat or similar top. We have BCDP buttons available to use for your shift if you don’t have BCDP logo items. Please leave the buttons for the next shift. • You must cover up any political logos before entering the library, so bring an extra cover up shirt. • Bring a beverage/water, snack, sunglasses or hat if you so desire. Set Up • The table will be set up under the tree near the book drop-off. Please keep the sidewalk area clear so we aren’t impeding public access. • 2 metal chairs are provided as well as 1 small table along with all the supplies. There is an umbrella, rain poncho and a plastic cover for the table. • In the case of rain, cover the table with the plastic cover and wait it out in your vehicle if you so desire. Either wait it out and reset when the rain has passed or call for table pickup 336-601-8183 or 865-469-1513. • By Law, anything campaign related MUST BE 100 ft from the entrance of the polling location (in this case, the Library entrance) Interaction with voters • Our mission is to interact with voters. To attract their attention, lots of friendly WAVING and SMILING as cars go by will help with getting them to stop by. • Use the buddy system, taking turns. Stay aware and alert. It’s great to get to know each other as you are at the table together, but please be sure you are paying attention to the visitors at the table.
