WELCOME to our once a month (third Wednesday) meeting of the Carrollton AREA Democrats Club. Our focus is to get to know our Neighbors - to meet like-minded folks for fellowship, education, solidarity and purpose. Learn how WE can shape our plans as we seek to SAVE OUR COUNTRY AND DEMOCRACY! Our November 18th meeting is a continuation of our mission to understand and get to know our neighbors better as we take a timely look at our "Mosaic of Carrollton" - people living in our community and how we can be Allies to Each Other. This month we have invited Madison Noelle McNair (she/her) to present "Disability & Democracy: Inclusion As A Core Value." We will be discussing accessibility, inclusion, accommodations, activism, disability history, and how disability is intersectional with all causes. Presenter's Bio: Madison is 29, she was born & raised in the Dallas area, she has been disabled her entire life and is passionate about accessibility. She began her journey by volunteering starting at 5 years old, and started more dedicated advocacy at 18 years old. She has been honored to work with many non-profit and advocacy groups across Dallas including Sunrise Movement Dallas and Sunrise Movement Tarrant, Dallas For Change, La Colectiva NTX, El Movimiento, Viva Colectiva, Vecinos Unidos DFW, New Disabled South, Dallas Area Transit Alliance, and she feels extremely lucky to have worked for many more in addition to these. Madison is currently a part of the Class of 2026 and Cohort 7 of the LBJ Women’s Campaign School at UT Austin, on the Patient-Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at Parkland, and the Paratransit & Accessibility Advisory Group (PAAG) with DART. Instagram: @monoqueenmadi We are looking forward to presenting additional educational topics at future meetings for all of us to learn about, understand, and appreciate our commonality. As always - we will give time to any candidates that are stopping by to introduce themselves and speak for a few minutes at the end of our
