About this event
Cemeteries serve many purposes beyond the obvious. They are popular spots to find wildlife, secretive plants, and peace of mind. How can our actions now and in the afterlife benefit the ecology of our communities? This presentation is an exploration of cemeteries from a nature watchers perspective. Danielle Belleny is a San Antonio-raised wildlife biologist and birder. In 2022, Danielle published her first book, This Is A Book For People Who Love Birds, and in 2023 she released a children’s book, The Junior Birders Handbook. In her free time, she enjoys nature watching in cemeteries. Other work by Danielle centers the biological importance of cemeteries and encourages a shift in North American death culture. Her writings can be found in Birding and Vermilion Flycatcher. Approved for AAMN AT hours If you plan to attend in person, please sign up here https://bexaraudubon.org/3174-2/?sheet_id=333 and
