Join the Madison NorthEast Dems to Get Out the Vote for the Midterm Elections! This will be our last big push to knock on every door to motivate our neighbors to cast their votes for our Democratic candidates. The NED Team Needs You! Our candidate slate for the state is great! • Governor – David Crowley • Lt. Governor – Sarah Godlewski • Attorney General – Josh Kaul • Secretary of State – JoCasta Zamarripa • Treasurer – Yee Leng Xiong We will also be canvassing to GOTV for our state assembly candidates, Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford and Andrew Hysell and our Congressman Mark Pocan. Have you heard?! There are 3 constitutional amendments on our ballot this November. Context: Wisconsin already prohibits discrimination under state and federal law; the amendment also bars “preferential treatment” programs aimed at equity. - Prohibit Partial Veto to Increase Tax or Fee Ballot language: Bars the governor from using the partial veto power to create or increase any tax or fee. Context: When Republican State Legislatures have passed budgets eliminating the funding of programs that serve the people, a Democratic Governor has been able to use this power to ensure the program is funded. - Prohibit Government Closure of Places of Worship During Emergencies Ballot language: Bars the government from closing gatherings at places of worship during declared emergencies, including public health emergencies. Context: Covid was very serious before the vaccines were widely available. Superspreader events led to illness and death outside the circle of the attendees. --- The NED team offers new canvasser training at the start of every shift. We will
