About this event
As a team leader, have you ever wondered how to structure a campaign that will win? Whether you are trying to pass legislation, get a business to change a policy, or keep an ICE facility out of a city, you need to think about who you are trying to reach, what tactics to use to apply pressure on your targets, your allies and opponents, and much more. Organizing strategy is inherently challenging yet most of us never get any training. Now you are in luck because we have a training just for you! Come learn how to run a campaign including goals, organizational considerations, allies and opponents, targets, and tactics (taken together a strategy). This workshop is based on that of the Midwest Academy, the most popular organizing training used by progressive organizations across the country. The workshop includes participants working in small groups on a hypothetical campaign strategy to stop a local data center. The workshop will be taught on Zoom by Carlos Davidson, a retired San Francisco State University professor who has extensive experience teaching and using organizing strategy.
