Minnesota Rises: get out the vote in Owatonna! (Let's flip MN-1)

It's time to switch into "GOTV mode"! We're partnering with Jake Johnson's campaign to boost their outreach efforts and **flip MN-1.** Johnson is a high school teacher seeking to follow in the steps of another teacher – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz – who flipped this district in the 2006 blue wave. Johnson has proven to be a strong candidate and is running competitively with Finstad, the Republican incumbent (and rubber-stamp for Trump's hare-brained schemes). This race is absolutely within reach. But only if we get out there and do the work. At this canvass, we’ll: - Knock on **lots of doors**, not just the same voters campaigns usually talk to. Our target turf will be curated, but we're still casting a wide net. - Have real conversations that **listen deeply** to voters’ concerns. - **Gently persuade** on-the-fence voters to vote for Democrats. - Encourage likely Democratic supporters to **make a plan to vote**. - Gather rich insights for campaigns, so they can be responsive to voters’ needs and smarter with their messaging, targeting, and outreach. Don’t worry if it’s your first time canvassing—training, materials, and support are all provided. Just bring comfortable shoes, a charged phone, and your passion for making a difference.
