### Ready to do the work that actually works? In 2024, our face-to-face voter registration model achieved a massive 79% voter turnout among the Texans we registered. We aren't just hoping for change—we have the blueprint to create it. Join Powered by People for a high-impact **Voter Registration & Engagement** shift at **Buchanan’s Native Plants’ 40th Anniversary Party!** This community celebration is expected to have high daytime turnout, giving us a great opportunity to meet Houstonians where they are, check registration statuses, and register eligible voters. Our voter engagement at this event will be **nonpartisan**. At this event, we will: * Engage directly with community members * Check voter registration status and register eligible voters on the spot * Connect with voters using **Reach**, our relational organizing tool, so we can stay in touch through Election Day ### Voter Registrar Requirements * **All volunteers are welcome!** There are vital roles for everyone, whether you are certified or not. * If you want to physically register voters, you **MUST** be a certified Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in **Harris County**. * Not certified yet? You can still participate in outreach or get certified ahead of time by signing up for our **VDR Training**. ### Shift Schedule & Flow 📍 **Buchanan’s Native Plants** **611 E. 11th St., Houston, TX** * **9:45–10:00 AM: Team Huddle** | Meet the team, grab materials, and review our goals. * **10:00 AM–2:45 PM: Voter Registration & Engagement** | Engage attendees, check registration statuses, register eligible voters, and connect with folks through Reach. * **2:45–3:00 PM: Debrief** | Turn in completed forms, tally our results, and celebrate our wins. The **40th Anniversary Party runs from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM**, with vendor setup scheduled for **8:30–9:30 AM**. ### How to Prepare Before you arrive, please complete our **mandatory online volunteer training** on Zoom.
