(10/24) the RIGHT CHOICE for Students, Educators, & Working Families: Community Canvass (CD 9)

Ten days to Election Day. The polls don't decide this one, the ballots on kitchen counters do, and this Saturday we go get them turned in. We're talking to our South LA neighbors about the November 3rd election: an open City Council seat, rent and tenant protections, and the measures keeping our colleges and health care funded. LA Trade Tech students lead this canvass in their own community. No experience needed. Every canvass starts with breakfast, a short program, and full training. You'll be paired with a partner, given a walkable route, and back before the afternoon. First-timers are not just welcome, they're the point. Bring comfortable shoes, water, sunscreen, and your phone (we set up the free canvassing app on site). Can't walk a route? There's always a role at the launch site. AFT Local 1521 is the union of faculty and staff at LA's nine community colleges.
