Oceana County Democratic Party Voter Registration Round-Up

In observance of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 15, the Oceana County Democrats are hosting a Voter Registration Round-Up from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at their headquarters at 920 State St., Hart, Michigan. We will help anyone fill out a voter registration form, including the Spanish version. And then we will deliver them to the township clerk offices around the county. National Voter Registration Day brings all Americans together, regardless of party, to celebrate, support, and encourage our Democracy. With more than 100,000 open seats on ballots this year around the country, it is more important than ever to exercise your right to vote! Registering to vote is easy in Michigan. You must be a United States Citizen, a Michigan resident for at least 30 days, at least 17.5 years old turning 18 by the time you vote, have a Michigan issued driver’s license or a Michigan issued state ID. If you do not have a Michigan ID you must provide the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. A lot of our county citizens do not vote in midterm elections, which is such a shame, because with fewer voters, your vote is much more powerful! Our forefathers worked so carefully and thoughtfully to create our constitution and our first amendments to that constitution, which give all of us the opportunity to choose our leaders. We ask, why would anyone want to forgo that opportunity? Midterms and down-ballot races are just as important as the presidential election. Maybe even more important.
