Stitching with Care Because community is built one stitch at a time. In times of uncertainty, gathering together can be a powerful act of care. Stitching with Care is a relaxed, welcoming space to knit, crochet, stitch, mend, or simply sit in good company. There is no formal agenda and no pressure — just hands at work and the kind of conversation that unfolds naturally when people share a table. This isn't a class or a structured lesson. However, experienced crafters are often happy to offer guidance if someone has a question. Bring a project you’re already working on, start something new, or simply come curious. ** Please RSVP to receive additional details and updates to the event ** It's an experiment in building community the old-fashioned way — by showing up, sharing space, and creating something with our hands. If it grows, it grows. If it simply becomes a good afternoon together, that’s enough too. Please bring your own needles and hooks. You are welcome to work on your own project or simply enjoy the company. Some of us are participating in - and you're welcome to join - the red “Melt the ICE Cap” project — inspired in part by the Norwegian resistance hats worn during the 1940s occupation, and more recently by knitters in Minnesota who reminded us that resistance can take many forms: singing in the streets, lighting luminaries on frozen lakes, riding bicycles through city neighborhoods — and yes, knitting red caps. . 📍 Eastern Monroe Public Library 📅 Sunday, June 14, 2:30-4:00pm 🔗 Please RSVP to receive additional details and updates to the event
