Every vote matters, and we’re on a mission to make that a reality. That's why ACLU of Michigan volunteers will be calling voters whose ballots need to be cured to ensure their vote can be counted. In Michigan, voters who vote via Absentee Ballot must sign their ballot envelope before their vote is counted. If there are any issues with the signature, the voter’s city or township clerk will notify the voter with instructions on how to fix, or “cure”, the signature issue. (Often, the voter forgot to sign the back of their Absentee Ballot.) Studies have shown that voters are more likely to follow up on their clerk's notice if they receive a call from friendly volunteers, so join us to make sure that every vote counts! No experience is required; we will provide the training. You will just need: 1) a computer or tablet, 2) a cell phone, and 3) a steady internet or Wi-Fi connection.
