About this event
Every statewide election this November will be decided by Richland County. It is right here, in Richland County, where Democrats have the highest margin of victory statewide. However, it is also in Richland County where we have some of highest amount of Democrats not voting. In the last 3 general election cycles, we have had over 90,000 nonvoters stay home in Richland County. To make matters worse, our state party has determined that over 70% of those voters would have pulled a Democratic ballot IF THEY SHOWED UP TO VOTE. Democrats in South Carolina aren't being beaten by Republicans. We're being beaten by the couch. The South Carolina Democratic Party has launched an unprecedented coordinated campaign called Flip the Future to help activate Democratic voters ahead of the midterm elections. Richland County has a tremendous responsibility to do more than anywhere else in the state. If we turned out 90,000 more Democrats out of Richland County, then every statewide race that was previously was a 10% difference, now goes to a 2%, the closest margins we've seen in South Carolina in decades. This is where we need you. This weekly meeting will be giving you the data, strategy, and skills on how you can help us turn out the vote this November. We will be going over how to phonebank, how to canvas, and how to use Minivan.
