The November 3rd general election is quickly approaching and it's up to us to protect our human right to voice our choice through voting. As part of a coordinated statewide effort through We Are California, we are putting together San Diego County Election Protection Squads to bring information and joy to voters, celebrate and affirm their right to vote, and observe, document and report any disruption. Squads will receive training, a t-shirt and/or hat identifying them as an election protector. You will be assigned to vote centers in pairs, learn to identify and report potential issues at the polls such as voter intimidation, misinformation, or procedural irregularities. Squads will also be supported by squad leaders and attorneys able to respond in real time to ensure a free and fair election. Alliance San Diego and We Are California, a statewide coalition of organizations, will train and mobilize hundreds of neighborhood voter protectors to monitor vote centers all over San Diego County on election day, Tuesday November 3 from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
