Labor Day 2026

LaborFest is here! The South Central Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO will celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 7th at the Madison Labor Temple grounds. This election year is imperative for Wisconsin and the working class. Restoring rights for workers, protecting our community members, and investing in our schools, roads, and bridges are all on the ballot. This year, Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira Tribute Band and Chris O’Leary Band will perform. Kids activities include a bounce house, magic shows, face painting, and balloon twisting. Labor-Fest is free and open to the public. Please feel free to publicize. SCFL's Community Services Committee will be taking collections for students whose families are homeless or in unstable housing. We are looking for $25 gift cards (St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill), backpacks, markers, colored pencils, fidgets, and African American hair-care products.
