🤝civic engagement
Join us in Acres Homes for a powerful community block walk with Senator Molly Cook, County Attorney Abbie Kamin, the Human Rights Campaign, the Houston LGBTQ+ Caucus, and Secular Houston. We’re coming together to connect with neighbors, share what’s at stake for our communities, and make sure every eligible voter has the information they need to participate in this election. Acres Homes has a long legacy of Black leadership, resilience, and civic power — and this block walk is about honoring that history while building toward a future where every family can thrive. Volunteers will receive a brief training, scripts, and materials before heading out in pairs to knock doors, hold meaningful conversations, and help strengthen voter participation across the neighborhood. What to Expect: • Community‑centered canvassing focused on listening and sharing accurate voting information • A welcoming, inclusive environment led by local leaders and partner organizations • Clear roles, support, and guidance for first‑time and returning volunteers • A chance to build collective power with neighbors across Acres Homes Your presence matters. When we show up together — Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, secular, faith‑based, and allied communities — we help shape a Texas where everyone’s voice is valued. Let’s walk, connect, and make an impact.
