10/1 Voter Mobilization @ Covenant House Texas: Rock the Vote

### Ready to do the work that actually works? Join **Powered by People at Covenant House Texas for Rock the Vote on Thursday, October 1 from 1:30–4:30 PM!** We’re partnering with Covenant House Texas for an afternoon of **nonpartisan voter registration, voter education, and community engagement** ahead of the voter registration deadline. Covenant House Texas has invited us to help provide **live voter registration and voting information** to their community. Because we are partnering with Covenant House Texas, **all voter engagement at this event will be strictly nonpartisan.** Our purpose is to help eligible Texans register, understand the voting process, and make their own voices heard. In 2024, our face-to-face voter registration model achieved a **79% voter turnout** among the Texans we registered. We know direct, person-to-person organizing works! ### What We’ll Do * Engage directly with community members about voting * Register eligible voters on the spot * Provide **nonpartisan** voting information and education * Help voters understand important registration and election information * Use **Reach**, our relational organizing tool, to connect with voters ### VDR Requirements **Everyone is welcome to volunteer!** You do not have to be a certified VDR to help with outreach and voter education. To physically register voters, you **must be a certified Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in Harris County.** Not certified yet? Sign up for our [VDR Training](https://www.mobilize.us/poweredxpeople/event/908495/). ### Event Schedule **1:15 PM – Team Huddle** Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, grab materials, meet the team, and review our nonpartisan voter engagement guidelines. **1:30–4:30 PM – Rock the Vote** Engage with community members, provide voting information, register eligible voters, and connect with voters through Reach. **4:30 PM – Wrap-Up** Turn in all completed voter registration forms and materials, tally our results, and debrief with the team. ##
