10/9 Voter Mobilization @ Beyond the Covers Book Fair at Social Beer Garden

### Ready to do the work that actually works? Join **Powered by People at the Beyond the Covers Book Fair for Adults at Social Beer Garden on Friday, October 9 from 6–10 PM!** This 21+ event is an opportunity to meet Houstonians where they are, provide voter education, register eligible voters, and make sure our community is ready for Election Day. In 2024, our face-to-face voter registration model achieved a **79% voter turnout** among the Texans we registered. We know direct, person-to-person organizing works! ### What We’ll Do * Engage directly with attendees throughout the book fair * Register eligible voters on the spot * Provide nonpartisan voter information and education * Use **Reach**, our relational organizing tool, to connect with voters and stay engaged with them through Election Day ### VDR Requirements **Everyone is welcome to volunteer!** You do not have to be a certified VDR to help with outreach and Reach. To physically register voters, you **must be a certified Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in Harris County.** Not certified yet? You’ll learn how our events work and how to use the Reach app. Please bring a **fully charged phone with Reach installed**. If you are a VDR, please have your VDR information available. **Important:** Voter engagement at this event will be **nonpartisan**, at the request of the event organizers.
