9/26 Voter Mobilization/Registration @ Queer Homecoming at Pearl

### Ready to do the work that actually works? Join **Powered by People at Queer Homecoming at Pearl on Saturday, September 26 from 9 PM–12 AM!** This 21+ event is an exciting opportunity to meet Houstonians where they are, register new voters, and get people engaged ahead of Election Day. In 2024, our face-to-face voter registration model achieved a **79% voter turnout** among the Texans we registered. We know direct, person-to-person organizing works, and we’re bringing that energy to Queer Homecoming! ### What We’ll Do * Engage directly with attendees throughout the event * Register eligible voters on the spot * Use **Reach**, our relational organizing tool, to connect with voters and stay engaged with them through Election Day ### VDR Requirements **Everyone is welcome to volunteer!** You do not have to be a certified VDR to help with outreach and Reach. To physically register voters, you **must be a certified Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in Harris County.** Not certified yet? Sign up for our [VDR Training](https://www.mobilize.us/poweredxpeople/event/908495/). ### Saturday Night Schedule **8:45 PM:** Arrive for team huddle, materials, and assignments **9:00 PM–12:00 AM:** Voter registration and outreach **12:00 AM:** Turn in registration forms, tally our results, and wrap up ### Before You Come All volunteers must complete our [mandatory online Field Training](https://www.mobilize.us/poweredxpeople/event/908390/) before volunteering. You’ll learn how our events work and how to use the Reach app. Please bring a **fully charged phone with Reach installed** and your energy for a fun night of voter engagement! If you are a VDR, please have your VDR information available. **Let’s meet people where they are, build real connections, and make sure Houston is registered and ready to vote!**
