A Legacy of Advocacy - The History of the MEA Monday, September 21, 2026 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. Learn the incredible history of the Michigan Education Association, from its beginnings in 1852 to its current work in the current age. Travel through the challenges and successes of the MEA, from its fight for recognition, through the difficult years of Governor Snyder to the promise of a better future through advocacy, solidarity and vision. Audience: All Members Presenters: Blake Mazurek, MEA Chief of Staff This training is a part of BFCL Governance Super Week! We are excited to host a variety of trainings to help leaders build a full capacity local. Join other members from across the state as you learn about topics like running a meeting, updating your governance documents, MEA’s membership portal, treasurer training and more!
