RCDP September Breakfast Potluck

You’re invited to breakfast! Join us to hear from special guest speaker Heba Atwa from the NC Budget & Tax Center at our monthly potluck breakfast. The NC Budget & Tax Center is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works with community leaders to understand local economic conditions and creates resources for people to advocate for policy change. Heba will speak about two of the proposed constitutional amendments that would limit property and income tax rates in North Carolina. While this sounds great at first, we want to make sure we understand the potential consequences – such as a dramatic loss of funding for local police and fire departments, teachers, and other services. So we’re bringing in the experts to help us make sense of the impact these amendments could have. This event is free and open to the community. Bring a dish to share, or feel free to just attend – we’ll be glad to have you! Doors open at 9:45 am and all Rowan residents are invited.
