About this event
Join Swing Left on a planned day trip to knock doors with **Ground Truth**—our deep-listening canvassing program. We're heading to Virginia's 1st Congressional District—a must-win Swing District—to knock doors. You don’t need to be a policy expert—just a good listener! This trip is currently unconfirmed—we need to reach a threshold of 25 sign-ups by September 4 to make this bus a reality. **By signing up here, you are saving your spot and helping make this trip happen.** ### The Mission: Deep Listening
This isn't your standard canvass. Through Ground Truth, we are changing how Democrats talk—and more importantly listen—to voters: - **Knock More Doors:** We cast a wide net and listen to anyone who comes to the door to truly understand the pulse of the community. - **Deep Listening:** We have real, two-way conversations. We’re not pitching or arguing; we're listening to voter experiences, fears, and values. - **Capture Insights:** You’ll be taking detailed notes on the voters you meet. These insights help us identify persuadable voters and provide campaigns with the deep intelligence they need to win. ### Here is the plan:
- **Sign up now and help us reach our volunteer goal:** As soon as we hit 25 volunteers, we will confirm the bus, finalize the departure details, and reach out to you immediately.
- **Ready to roll:** Once confirmed, your bus captain will provide departure details, training, and the Ground Truth conversation guide. ### What to expect:
- **The Trip:** The bus will leave DC on Saturday, September 19 at 9:30 am and return around 8:30 pm.
- **Canvassing:** We'll be knocking on doors in the district from roughly 12–6pm.
- **Preparation:** You’ll receive all training materials, location details, and support from your bus captain. You will be walking door-to-door, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing like sunscreen, a hat, and an umbrella/poncho are recommended. The conversations we have today could be the tipping point. C
