POWER, WATER & DATA: What Tucson’s New DATA CENTER Rules Mean for Our Community Veterans have a unique perspective on energy, infrastructure, and national security. We’ve seen firsthand what happens when communities depend on fragile energy systems and when decisions about resources are made without the people most affected at the table. That’s why Veterans Power America is helping lead this conversation about Tucson’s data center future. Join us for a community town hall to learn more about Tucson’s new DATA CENTER rules, ask questions, and hear from local leaders, advocates, and community members about what these changes could mean for our water, power, neighborhoods, climate, and future. On August 5, 2026, the Tucson Mayor and Council approved new regulations for large-scale data centers in a 6-1 vote. The new rules take effect September 5 and establish requirements related to public review, neighborhood engagement, setbacks, noise, water and power availability, energy use, environmental review, and open space. This town hall is a space to get informed, ask hard questions, and make sure our community has a voice in what comes next.
